All drivers of the boat born BEFORE January 1, 1988 does not need a Boaters License only a valid state issued drivers license.
ALL persons who will be driving the boat is born AFTER January 1, 1988 must have completed one of the following:
1. Must have successfully completed an approved boating safety course and have a Boating Safety Education ID Card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife (aka Florida Boaters License) 2. OR have Completed a online boating safety education course (links below) or have a equivalent examination from another state, United States territory, or Canada which meets or exceeds the minimum requirements established by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (has a "NSABLA" endorsement printed on the boating certificate).
Some states like Alabama has the boater license endorsement on the back of your valid drivers license.
If in doubt it never hurts to brush up on the rules and regulations how safely operate and navigate a boat on the water and to invest the time and take one of the following online course:

So if you don't have 6 hours to complete option 1 this option will get you taken care of faster.
